That time of the year

Christine Kane is back at her trouble-making ways again this year. Her Resolution Revolution, from last year and the year before that, suggests that instead of making a long list of resolutions for the new year, most of which we'll have forgotten before the good dishes are safely stowed away, that we choose just a single word. A touchstone, a moral compass, change right at the "BE" level instead of at the "DO" or the "HAVE" level.

This year, my word was "Awareness." I tried to make myself notice the moment I was in, instead of mourning the one past, or anticipating (dreading?) the one to come. Did it work? Often yes, sometimes no. But I think having that word helped guide me back on track when I started to waver.

And now it's time for a new word. Hmmmm... Accept. Trust. Happy. Forgive. Courage. Gratitude. Sufficiency. Compassion. Exuberance. Vibrant. Believe. Commit.

Ponder, ponder I must. I'm wearing this coat for the whole year, it better fit.

INDIGESTION

I think that's something we can all focus on.

By the way, thank you for sharing the link last year. I chose "abundance," and yes, it was an abundant year for me. Now to choose this year's focus.
