Stopped at Ben Franklin for some yarn (for Tori 45¢ each) and at the fabric store for some thread (for me $5.90 each.) I should take up whatever craft of the week Tori's into - it seems cheaper. Had lunch at Subway, got cheap (??) gas and came home. A not so expensive outing with plenty of treasures to show for it. Driving home, the Adirondacks were rugged and snow-capped. Very mountainous. Looking right, the Green Mountains were also snow-capped, but soft and round and comfortable looking. On both sides, below the snowy mountains were colourful maples and sumacs and oaks rubbing shoulders with green pines. And below that, green and gold fields with scattered hay bales and holsteins. Like I said, you'll have to trust me on this. Beautiful.
When we got home, I hauled out the lawn mower and cut the grass in the backyard, then got the rider out and did the front and side. There is something about how tired I am after a day of yard work that makes me feel really good. I managed to get that Abutilon into a pot and up onto the step before if gave in and froze, and I pulled the geraniums too. I'm going to try to keep them dormant over the winter. We'll see how that goes - I don't hold out too much faith, but who knows. Tori and Daniel carved pumpkins on the front step.

I grabbed the camera when I noticed it was still a little light out. A beautiful ending to a beautiful day. Have I mentioned I love living here? I do. Totally, absolutely, and completely.
