The gathering of the clans

Oh, my mailbox runneth over (or at least it did yesterday.) The tartans are coming, the tartans are coming! I wonder if that means I should expect Mel Gibson in a skirt. R-r-r-rowr!

I put out the call for tartans and this is the response so far. I know there's more coming, too. I'm even thinking I have a few homespuns in the mess downstairs - guess I ought to tie on a rope and go digging. Now, my ideal Sunday will involve a crock pot supper √, no laundry √, a TiVO'd movie for the kids √ and a couple of hours of uninterrupted sewing time. We'll see. Since many of these plaids have 2 dominant colours in addition to the background I should get double duty (or quad if I do two of each) from each tartan. 8" blocks, I'll need about 100 of these little babies. A few done will get the momentum started. Woo-hoo!

Looking at the picture I see I need more green and red. More of those wonderful rich colours that we think of when we picture kilts. Even purple. And blue. I can't wait to see this quilt!

I sent blues and greens so that should help the mix.
