Done(ish)
So I did the throw it in the air technique for the layout. Not really, I did make sure that there weren't any same/same neighbours, but beyond that, no reason to this rhyme. I started trying to get a secondary shadow effect going, but my eyes started to cross, and it really wasn't obvious enough to make it worth the effort.
I'll add a thin border of the grey onto the top and left side to frame off those pyramids but nothing more. I like this top better in pictures than in real life. Sometimes it's the other way 'round.
It's off to the quilter's as soon as I put together a back for this one, and then, hot damn! I'm done my Christmas quilting! I suppose I could get an early start on next year... only one due, for my kinda-sorta nephew Bevin. I don't know him at all, though mom says he's a nice kid. Heh, there' a switch.

Crimeny Dorothy! I love it! If Duncan doesn't, I'll send you my address!
It's all about the giving anyway tho...right?
Great job.
This is really nice. I don't know what your seeing but it is great. THe 3D effect really pops. Thanks for showing the top, I was just thinking about it, wondering how the progress was going.
Mike was in the room as I was looking at your quilt.
"Aw man, that's SWEET", he said.
"Why yes, yes it is", I replied.
Now he wants one.
It looks way better in the picture than it does in real life. Easy to make, though.
My kids actually both like it too, in real life. So maybe it *does* look okay. I dunno, maybe it's that grey quilt thing. Not enough red. ;o)
Dorothy, that is one gorgeous quilt! Yeah, I agree with Mike--SWEET!
