That's better

2 1/2 pounds gone. Now mind, these are pounds that had already been gone, but I guess they missed me and came back. Regardless. They're gone, again. Yes, I had onion rings and root beer, and I enjoyed every bit of it. I had ice cream and a cookie too. As long as I make sure to plan for it, I can have just about anything I want. I like that.

It's summer, and was beastly hot yesterday. I was home from my 5k walk yesterday morning by 7:30 and dripping with sweat. Ugh. Today will be a little less hot, probably just as humid, with the chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. I've got a load in the washer right now that will go out of the line as soon as it's done. I've got a run to the post office again today too - better get that done soon, too.

You know when you think of certain places, you have a mental sense of what it's like there. When you think of Southern California, you think (well I do) of hot dry breezes and the smell of salt water and exhaust. Maybe I'm just remembering Los Angeles. When you think of Louisiana you think of hot, humid, still air, so thick it's like breathing soup. Gumbo. Well, before we moved here, when I thought of New England, I thought of cool breezes, temperate summers, long snowy winters. Crisp mornings, sunshiney afternoons, jacket in the evening wonderful weather. Uh, no. Yesterday it was 98º and it didn't get below 70º overnight. Humidity is at 75% or higher. Nothing crisp about this morning, that's for darn sure. Like I said, ugh.

I agree with the "eat anything" theory, and we do...sorta. If I am going to stay healthy the rest of my life, I am certainly not going without another Lays Potato Chip! I just try to make the best choices I can wherever/whenever I am.

Am I the only one who doesn't understand your Bastille measure? Please explain to this blondie, lol.

Good job on the weight loss, I'm still holding at 41#, evidently my choices ain't been that great lately!

(Storming of the) Bastille (Prison) Day, July 14, is the French Independence Day. Since the French Revolution involved a fair bit of head/guillotine action, but Ticker factory doesn't HAVE anything like that, I improvised.

And about those chips - I had a handful of Lays Naturals (sea salt) - 7 g of fat instead of 10, 140 calories instead of 160. It's a little thing, but it IS a thing, right?

Hey, at least it stopped raining, right? And I love the Bastille Day ticker. Especially the kids googly eyes. Heh.

In Los Angeles you need a jacket to sit outside in the evening, even in July. Congratulations again on your weight loss.

Dorothy, you are an inspiration. I only wish I hadn't given up when it took a year to lose 30 pounds. Now I have to do it all over again.

My quilts are going to be at VQF. Would you mind taking some pics and emailing me? Thanks!
