I cleaned. I sewed. I faltered.

Mud room. Check!
String Quilt. Check! (sort of)
Water. er...

Before I allowed myself to put it off one more day I took on the mudroom. Garbage bag, recycle bag, 2 laundry baskets. Tori's junk in one, Simon's in the other. It was done in an hour including washing the floor. Ahhhhh....!

I hand sewed the first long seam on the back of the strings today, and maybe, maybe I can get the last strip sewn on tomorrow. Maybe not, Tuesday is usually my busiest day, and tomorrow promises to rank right up there with the best (worst) of them. There's nothing to stop me from starting it, though. I will never, ever do another quilt this way. The price of machine quilting is worth not having to deal with a monster like this one ever again. It's king sized, it's heavy, and if I didn't love it so much, I'd despise it. Ya know?

And the 3 litre bottle? It sits almost empty on the counter. It's too late now to finish, I'd be up 3 times tonight night, or I'd wet the bed. Neither appeals.

Sounds like a page out of my life.

Dorothy, you are so clever and have such a way with words, have you ever thought about writing a book?

Rian is right; you are an excellent writer (but you've heard that before, haven't you?).

I'm interested to hear you say the long-armer is worth it. It sometimes nags at me to try quilt-as-you-go, but I think I would bog down and lose enthusiasm. Good on you for getting so far on a king-size, no less!

I third that notion.

Hugs!
