The basting is (thank goodness!) done. My fingertips are hamburger. These blocks were not interested in lying flat at all but have been basted, mostly along the quilting lines, into submission. Each block will be quilted individually with the sashing floating between to suck up some of the unevenness. That bottom left block, ouch! That's either a nursing bra or a "where'd that come from?!" training bra - it was a tough one to wrangle into place, the cups are very full. It would have done better inside the body of the quilt, constrained by her neighbours, but ah well. Live and learn.
Quilting is next, simply done, then binding in pink, then the fun embellishing starts. Karen has sent some tiny shells that will look gorgeous on one of the tanner cleavages, and Debra's promised some punk goodies for the pirate. I'm thinking that Christine's quilter's bra (bottom right) needs a tape measure (though who uses tape measures? I've got rhinestones and pearls and other treasures coming too. Thanks everyone!

Are they stuffed? Or could you trapunto (is that a verb?) the bras for a 3-d effect?
Maybe one of them needs a price tag (the Minnie Pearl bra).
Oh they're stuffed alright. This would be SO much easier if they were all flat-chested.
and a price tag? Absolutely!
I love your quilt! I think the unevenness makes a "GOOD" statement. We women are very uneven within our bras and so should your guilt.
Has anyone sent you a metal pin ribbon for breast cancer? I don't have one but could make on out of robbon and send one to you.
Debbi, I would LOVE a pink ribbon. Thanks! I'll email you my address.
I've got a miniature sewing machine (perhaps for a charm bracelet) I can send it to you for the quilter's bra block. I don't have a chain for it, but it could hang on a hank of thread. I seem to have lost your address again, so let me know.
Dorothy I have some messuring tape ribbon I could send you and perhaps some other beads. If you would like them let me know.
I mailed your punk goodies yesterday.
Hi Dorothy,
I really like it! I have this pattern somewhere and thought of makin it for my daughter. I even have some fabric with a bra print. But it is just one of the long list of quilts I want to make and maybe never will. Good for you for actually getting it finished!
