Green Up!

Today is the first Saturday in May, that makes it Green Up Day in the State of Vermont. Thousands of volunteers spread out over the state and picked up all the trash that the receding glaciers, er, melting snow left behind. It's a remarkable, and sadly, unique thing, as far as I know. Does any other state dedicate an entire day to spring cleaning?

By 9 am there were already bright green bags at the side of the road, filled with coffee cups, cigarette packages, plastic bags, with old tires, building materials and Rubbermaid tote lids stacked on top.

The place looks great everyone, good job!
