Let the summer begin!

Yesterday saw us at Simon's first (of two) Memorial Day parade. What fun! I'll miss this next year when he's no longer (he thinks) in band. Where else will I catch up with my old pal Bernie, now that he's off changing the world one Senate bill at a time?

(All the pictures are clickable so you can see them better)

Here's my boy in the band (he's wearing big bass drum, middle of the picture, you'll have to trust me.)

Tori was quite taken with the greyhound rescue group. No! We are NOT getting a dog. No. No. No!

Daniel loved the re-enactors who shot their guns right in front of us! There's a Fife and Drum band behind them. At least this parade wasn't too warm for the wools they wear.

Me, I love bagpipes - this is the St. Andrews Pipe Band in their Vermont tartan. Green, of course.

Tomorrow, pictures of our trip to Survivor Greenhouse, and maybe, maybe if I get a chance to do the rest of the quilting a shot of the finished Penny quilt (Henny's pieced, save the missing sig block I was supposed to have yesterday.) Tomorrow's parade number 2. No pics, probably, 'cause I'm IN IT! I'm the Parade Queen! Not really, I'm walking with the elem school Student Council shopping cart food drive, but I can still wave like I'm the queen, right?

Brings back very fond memories of my hometown's parades *sigh*.

We don't have a downtown here, it was bulldozed for the I10, how rude is that!

Great pics. I was a marching band geek in high school and loved it.

Looks like great weather for a parade. Not too sunny for us pale types :)
