Yes Deer Tick (the head was still in there), yes inflammed, probably not on long enough to be a problem, but I got the megadose of Doxycycline in anyway, and that should be the end of it. I was the third weekend warrior today. Amazing what a nice weekend after a mildish winter can bring out of the woodwork.
I'm also under strict orders to STOP using the chainsaw when there's no one else home to dial 911. Yanno, just in case.
Oh, the draaaaaaaama!

Had the same experience under my arm a couple of years ago. The damn head of the tick was embedded. Fortunately I didn't get sick, but it took a long time to get it out of my body.
ANY job that requires a ladder at our house is a 2-person job: one to climb the ladder and one to dial 911 when the first one falls off.
I am under orders not to climb on ladders when no one else is home. Or use the electric hedge clippers. Or mow the lawn. Too bad laundry is not on the list...
Whew...i was worried about the headless bug, but now you don't have to worry about a head-ache...
glad you got it sorted oout-It took a long time and a couple of blood tests before I was better. I had 2 courses of antibiotics-bleah on the tummy.
They're being really proactive - the ONLY tick's the office has seen this year have been deer ticks, so they're just assuming everyone has Lyme Disease. Quick fast course of antibiotics if it's within 48 hours of the bite and they can usually nip it in the bud.
Ewww, ticks. Riley gets em sometimes but they're not a big problem here, not like where you live.
Have you heard Brad Paisley's new song? I think one of the key lines is something like. . . "I'd like to check you for ticks." LOL!
Hi Dorothy,
It's one thing after another. I'm glad that you found the tick and got it out fast.
I've been meaning to tell you that you look so thin in your new picture! Good job!
