What a week, holy moley! But it's over, and next week looks WAY less stressful. Today's culminating event was the Children's Fair fundraiser for Daniel's preschool. Raffles, Silent auction, games, activities, cakes, cookies, cupcakes, pizza. Woo! It was only 4 hours, but felt like a full day. Perhaps because I did 2 loads of laundry, vacuumed the downstairs and did the recycling before? I'm happy, though - I watched and hovered and kept checking back and WOOHOO! won the silent auction on a Shelburne Museum membership! THAT made everything else this week worth it.
And after? I tackled the front corner bed. Weeding, pruning, primping and thinning. Everything's accounted for, there was little winter damage except for the shrub roses, and a lot of that was rabbit-y. I should have taken a picture. It looks great. Here's a before shot - even the weeds are pretty, yes?
Tomorrow, perhaps, the daffodil bed that will shortly transform into the hosta and astilbe bed. It looked great (from a distance) at the beginning of the week, but the daffs are starting to fade and are in need of beheading, and the grass is creeping into the mulch. One thing at a time, mama, one thing at a time.
