Happy Birthday to me!

The cake's in the oven, the rib roast is next. There are green beans and garlic mashed potatoes ready to take their turns on the stove top. And the chocolate buttercream will be whipped up shortly. It's my birthday, and this is my favourite meal of the year. :o)

BTW - does anyone else, when asked how old they are, respond first by saying "Okay this is 2008, right?" I used to know how old I was, now I have to do the math, every single time. 44, if you're asking (it's 2008, right?)

Happy Birthday!!

At first I thought it was too bad that you weren't getting taken out for supper tonight. But then, I wouldn't want to be in a restaurant on a Saturday night either. And, likely, the food wouldn't be as good in a restaurant.

As long as someone else does the dishes tonight, right?

Happy Birthday to you! Yummy dinner.

And yes, I do the "um, how old AM I?" thing all the time.

Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to You,
.....
Yes, I have to do the math every single time...it started about the year I turned 40--I am 52 now. I have also just graduated to having to do the math when I want to know how old my husband is, so you have that to look forward to also!

Happy Birthday Dorothy.
Your meal sounds great, especially the frosting.
Yes, I have to do the math to figure out my age. Yesterday someone asked me and I replied without thinking. (I realized later I was a year off, but didn't correct myself.) What's a year here or there?

Happy Birthday. Enjoy your lovely meal. And no, I don't remember how old I am without calculating. I was born in a 0 year, so calculating is pretty easy.

Aw, thanks everybody.

Zazzu-whoever-you-are - I choose not to be taken out for dinner. I like to cook, and I get WAY more bang for my buck at home. Yes, someone else does the dishes, that's the deal here - no chores on your birthday. Tori has offered to cook for me, but the thought terrifies me. ;o)

Rose - my husband is a year less than whatever I am, unless he's had his birthday (Oct) then we're the same. I can subtract 1 in my head, but don't always remember to.

Pigley - we're twins!

Christine - since I figure I'm still not even half way, a year here or there doesn't trouble me in the least.

And Fitzy dearest - need my address? Seriously, cash is always the right gift (even late cash.)

Happy Birthday! I hope it was a good one.

You have plenty of company with having to do the year/age calculation. I can't remember how old I am anymore either.

Dude, we were eating out the other night (several days after MY birthday) and Joe asks me "how does it feel to be 49?" I replied "why don't you ask me that next year, since I just turned 48!" what a doofus...

Hope your day was mahvelous.

Happy birthday, funny girl. 44, huh? One of those "Dyslexic's Dream" birthdays! (Ah, to be 44 again.)
