Let the Magic Happen

This is what I did today. I played in the mud (a tiny bit of mud, for a very little bit of time.) I'm an impatient patient gardener. I have no problem at all waiting for seeds to become seedlings, to become baby plants, plants, dinner. But I have a VERY hard time waiting for spring so I can practice being patient. I picked up some mixed salad greens seeds a few weeks ago when the devils at Burpee decided they need to start the torment. I didn't even try to resist, though I did hold off on flower and most other veg seeds. Not finding exactly what I wanted helped too. I've also managed to keep myself out of Agway because once I do set foot inside, all hope is lost.

The back of the seed packet tells me I'll need to wait 35 days for my salad. That's what, the beginning of March? I can deal with that, and if I put the glass over the raised bed, I might be just about ready to put a crop in outside by that point. Maybe I'll do an in-between crop inside too.

Can't wait!

I love to dabble in the dirt too. Now hurry up and wait!
