Hey it's Sunday! This week has been a real mix up, day wise. The kids went back to school Wednesday, which felt kinda like Monday, and then suddenly it was already the weekend. So, what have I accomplished?
Quilting - I've been working on Alana's Lady of the Lake. I started out piecing the parts for 4 blocks at a time - 4 big HSTs and 64 little ones at a time, then piecing those into the block components - two 3 HST strips, two 5 HST strips, plus one big one. That got tedious quick, so since I had everything cut, I paired up ALL the HSTs, big and little, and grouped them into 3 and 5 block bunches so as not to repeat a red or white print in any strip. Easier spoken than accomplished, but accomplish it I did. One afternoon this week I sat down for 10 minutes and pieced all the 6" HSTs, another day I sewed all the 3 bundle 2" ones. The 5 bundle HSTs remain unsewn, but that will happen this week. This morning I started pressing and trimming that first bunch of little ones. Sheesh! Why on earth did I think a full sized quilt made of mostly 2" triangles was a good idea!?
Knitting - I've got Tori's sweater on the needles, but haven't made enough progress to take a picture. It'll be fast once I get into the rhythm of it, but ugh, it's on HUGE needles. I HATE huge needles.
Oh, and this. Yum.

I agree Wed felt like monday and then Friday when realized oh they are off again for 2 more days I thought oh no!
I need my routine back.
Love the quilt...I agree making quilts like that in segments works best for me too.
I love the fabrics your using...a quilt on my list of quilts to make some day!

Hey Friend! Happy Birthday. Sorry I missed your day. Ummm, what day is it now. I was knee-deep in a major fit of flinging out crap-sort of a crap toss if you will. I've reached the stage where I would be dangerous if I had a dumpster..hmmmmm
Anyway, many, many, returns of the day with cupcakes on top.
Wow, that LOL quilt top is really looking good! way to go!
We were all mixed up here, too - went back to school on Thursday, and then boom - weekend. Happy birthday to you, and yes, I always have to think about what year it is when people ask how old I am - luckily for me, this will be an easy year, as I was born in 68!
Hoo-boy, I can SO relate, Dorothy! My blue and white LOTL has been languishing for two years or more. It's been nagging at me lately, so I think when we get back from California, I may make a start...again. Even just trimming all the little HSTs to the correct size would be a start...
Oh, and I absolutely LOVE your red and white LOTL...really going to be gorgeous!
Ooh, all that red & white makes me weak in the knees. I predict that by the time you finish that baby you will NOT want to let it go.
I like that Lady of the Lake pattern. Oh, and it's in my colors! Swoon!
Happy belated birthday. Hope it was divine!
