So this is what 60 percent of a quilt looks like (or 100% if you're delusional). I like! The reds pointing north looks good too. Even though an east/west orientation was what I thought I wanted, it looked a little like fish. I dunno, what do you think? Funny how just changing the orientation changes the look.I guess I need to get those last twenty (sigh) blocks done and then lay everything out. Of course, then there's still the isse of those setting triangles. Red? White? or (eek!) half blocks?
North, west,
south, or east?

I vote north. It is going to be a gorgeous quilt.
Make that two votes for north.
You'll be happy you stuck with it.

When I did my Lady of the Lake, I set it with the big triangles on the bottom...they looked heavier than the light ones to me, so I went with that. Give me a minute and I'll post a picture of mine on my blog so that you can see.
I love it! I vote north too. I agree the east/west look like fish, but probably just because you planted the seed.
I vote East. North is fine. Any direction is fine, really. I suppose if you use red setting triangles, that might affect the choice of direction.
Beautiful quilt, D!
North or south like Tracey's. That's gorgeous.
I vote east and west. Can you do that? You know, one row one way, the next swimming backwards. Or maybe just one lone fish swimming backwards?
North is good, but so is West. I so love this quilt!
WEST
But WHO listens to me?

north or south - she will turn it one way or another on the bed, right?
I didn't even consider the diagonal setting - I assumed it would be set square - but I really like what you are doing with it! And its a Christmas gift???? Amazing.
I've been following this but not commenting. It's beautiful. Also, you're not an idiot.
Aaah, I just love a red and white quilt, beautiful!
I'd go with a north setting with white setting triangles and a red binding.

If you make the quilt a square, you will have North, South, East, and West.
