It's been a week, busy, but not a lot of sewing. Cute Boyfriend started T-ball, so that's where I'll be spending at least 2 evenings a week from now until the end of June.
If you look closely you'll see a little pink tongue firmly planted out the side of his mouth. Serious business, this.
I got the oil tank filled and the vehicle inspection done, washed a pile of laundry, sent my dear friend Kathy back into the work world (well, I wished her well anyway. She got herself to work.) No pictures of any of those because, yawn, it's all boring.
Thursday I sat and babysat the sound equipment at the park for an hour between the set-up and the arrival of the musicians to for our town's "Celebrate Children!" event. Our little city really is a beehive first thing in the morning. From my perch on the (cold) steps of the bandstand, I watched life go by. Michael caught my eye as he put up the flag at the Post Office. I realized my camera was still in the truck so I waked over and grabbed it, then snapped a few pics until the battery gave out. That's Jim, a partner in one of the two law firms we have in town. My guess is that he's walking up to Dave's office, at the other law firm, since there's not a lot more up Main Street in the direction he's heading. He could be going to the Opera House (also houses our city hall and police station.) He's just walked past the 15 panel door that leads to the Dog Tired (art) and Copper Crane (yoga) studios upstairs. A few minutes after this picture, Martha, our local midwife went flying through that door, 4 minutes late for the 9:00 Anusara Yoga class.
The Maple Meadows truck filled with fresh eggs and Vermont maple syrup went by on its way up the street to 3 Squares (me too, as soon as someone showed up!)
A tanker full of something (feed or fertilizer) went by. A tractor went by, towing a manure tank. A truck hauling 2 huge boats (still shrink wrapped from winter storage) to their summer home on lake Champlain went by too.
And there's Mrs. K dropping the high school students off for their DUO (Community Service) classes.
Many delivery drivers park their trucks and walk their handcarts to the various establishments. The Molson guy first took a delivery down Green Street to City Limits (the bar you go to when you get kicked out of Rizzo's across the street), then another to Rizzo's. Next handcart went up the stairs of the Stevens House to Bar Antidote (the clubby bar that Rizzo's and City Limits patrons wouldn't be caught dead in.) The second truck first sent a couple dollies up to Luigi's Pizza, then restocked the kitchen at The Hungry Bear.
We have more than our fair share of restaurants in this tiny town. Christophe's, our Fodor's Choice, Top Pick country french restaurant (you can see the sign) has sadly closed. But there's still the Black Sheep Bistro a little further down Main Street. If you want healthier, there's The Park Squeeze, or The Fat Hen Market (and take local products home to cook yourself) right across the street from Daily Chocolate.
The local musicians showed up about 9:30, I trotted down to 3 Squares for some quality time with a panino and coffee and the paper. I looked up to see this sweet sight.
And how much sweeter that I was inside with my coffee, and my paper, and my sandwich. ;o) I did sneak back past the park on my way home for a smooch, but a hundred 5 year olds with noise makers, ice cream, and country music? Not my idea of fun, thanks.

Your town is very nice. After all your winter posts about snow and cold, I can now see why you live there.
