4 in, 8 out

I had a hair appointment this morning, so 4 teenage girls decided to hitch a ride to town and go shopping. Of course their shopping needed to begin far earlier than my hair appointment, so I had some time to kill. And what happier way to spend 2 hours than BRA SHOPPING!! Ugh. I have a drawer full of bras that don't fit. quite. right. They fit, but after an hour the wire starts to dig into my side, or the lace starts to itch. Or, owning to last year's adventure in breast surgery. one side puckers just a little while the other side overflows. It's a joy.

So, alone at the mall, I headed to the lingerie department of the nearest store, and started nabbing possible candidates. Five to try on, and ooh, look, pretty summer nighties. I came out of the dressing room with one success (for now) and a new nightgown. A display on the aisle offered "longer cut for more discrete coverage" t-shirts, so I grabbed one of those too, a pretty melon colour. Some more knit tops, a little further on, and boom, I'm out $40. (Everything was on sale - I've spent close to that on a single one of those not quite right bras I have upstairs.)

So that's four new things out. I've already got some shorts that aren't decent to wear in public anymore, so that's two, and I'll heave the worst offenders from the bra collection upstairs. Still three more things. But a deal's a deal. and three more things will go.

I wandered around Joann for a while, coupons in hand, dying to spend them. but I didn't. There was nothing there that I wanted so badly that I could imagine what I'd get rid of to have it. Hey, this might just be something after all...

I wonder ... could the older bras be used out in the garden? I've heard canteloupes and the like can be grown on trellises, but the melons need slings. Imagine how lovely a purple lace bra would look cradling a canteloupe!
