Apron pics. These simple little kid aprons are completely size adjustable and reversible. No pockets to collect stuff that's just going to clog the washer. As I finished them yesterday Cute Boyfriend declared each his favourite. This one (shhh) wil actually be his. Most of the fabric is from Walmart, or Joann with a 40% off coupon, or my "bought a couple of yards 'cause it was on sale" stash, so even counting thread, they cost less than $8 each. I'm using up all the old, ugly, leftover bits of thread in the piecing of these, and having remarkable luck matching the colours for the topstitching. Who knew I had so much thread?
I have 4 nieces and 2 nephews and 3 kids of my own who will be getting these for Christmas, along with one gingerbread house kit per family, to test drive the aprons with. The pattern is kinda/sorta traced on newspaper; I used an actual apron made for me by Vicky a long time ago. (She has sweet new grandbaby pictures on her blog!) Hers is a little more "tailored" and includes a pocket, but I'm too It's raining here again today, same as yesterday and Tuesday, and Sunday. We (well, lower elevations) are under a flood watch and flash flood warnings. With the aprons done, I suppose I *could* do some baking, but that'd be a bad idea, what with the slowly moving ticker up there and all. Brush clearing's out, and I vacuumed yesterday.
Teri (whose daughter just got married!) sent me some lovely laceweight yarn, maybe I'll I'll go scout out a scarf pattern.
