I really couldn't think of a single Flashback to post today, nothing. Then I ran into my neighbour Laura up at the mailbox and she asked if we had any weekend plans. Uhhh, no? She said they didn't either, though when she was a kid her parents had always had a big end-of-summer Labor Day blowout. Oh, yeah, Labour Day. My parents weren't big party throwers, but every few years we would go to The CNE. The Canadian National Exhibition, The Ex, runs from mid-August through Labour Day. Now THAT's a fair. Huge, flashy, expensive, glorious, hot fun. Click the picture below (of the Princes' Gates, not, as many believe, the Princess Gates) to open the CNE website in a new window. Shame you've missed the Lumberjack Show and the Aquarama - apparently they were just too lame for today's fairgoer and they got cancelled a few years ago.
