
My dear friend Laurna (I miss you!) once said to me the moment she knew she was a mother wasn't when she was handed a squalling infant, or when she sent her baby off to school. It was when she found herself barefoot in the kitchen making koolaid popsicles.
Today Tori and I froze green beans from the garden and canned peaches (from Pennsylvania, I think.) I've done both of these things before, but teaching my daughter? Today, I'm a grown up.
