It speeds up before it slows down

Yesterday was a *whew* busy day, and today promises more of the same. Cute Boyfriend blew off swimming lessons for his first day of Kindergarten! KinderCamp, actually, 2 half days of exploring the school and the classroom with the teachers he'll have in a few weeks. He came home with 2 drawings and a bandaid (they visited the nurse's office.) But before all that, he had some sticker work to do. Kid loooooooves Star Wars.

While he was there I pulled out some fabric and made a wee mess. It was great fun! And this is as much of a sneak peek as Alexis' swap players are gonna get - four 3/4" high Flying Geese. You people gotta know I love you if I'm paper piecing.

After Camp it was school shopping for the boys. OMG Simon has big feet! But there's plenty of sales to be had, and it's a good thing. They won't need clothes until Christmas, I hope. Tori's hoping we can squeeze a trip to Glen's Falls (Target - we have to drive 2 1/2 hours!) next week. I'm hoping there's enough hours in the day to get everything done! Karen, maybe Wednesday or Thursday? Lemme know if you're free for lunch.

Then we picked the girls up from their final day of their final Jump Camp. I'll bet they're looking forward to sleeping in and NOT jumping rope with 60 little girls today.

Daniel's got swimming and then (late arrival at) KinderCamp again today, though I think we'll take a pass on the pool, yet again. It's only 64ยบ right now, and the kid's got very little meat on him. I'm not sure I want to send him to school blue and shivering. We're going to have to repeat this level again next year I suspect, anyway. He was the youngest in the class, and the best bargainer. "I want you to dunk your whole head under the water, Daniel." "How 'bout I just put my ear in because, look! I can do this!" (proceeds to demonstrate his amazing tiptoe bounce walk) And the teenage girls teaching the class fall for it every. single. time. And, me? I am interviewing potential food services managers today. Scott called a second ago to say he was just getting to the airport so I asked him "What does one wear to interview lunch ladies?" "Uh, a hairnet?" Funny guy that one. Jeans it is. (and you'll see by the ticker up yonder these jeans are getting a little roomy. Whoo! Onward and downward!
