Last night was a fun time - the final Monday night band concert on the green. The Christian school brought pie, and we all did our part to make sure they didn't have to take any home. Tori had cherry, Daniel had pumpkin, I had peach. I'd have preferred lemon meringue or coconut cream, but either I was too late, or they hadn't read my memo. Either way... but the peach was good. Poor Simon stayed home and ate mushy ice cream, and Scott never comes to these things. He also doesn't like pie.
This pic on the right is one of our State Reps, Greg Clark, dancing with a pretty little girl in a party dress. This princess spun and whirled and pranced for the entire hour. Bet she slept well last night. Greg too, probably.A couple hours later, the skies opened and it poured rain. We haven't had any since last Tuesday, and don't see any more in the immediate forecast, so I'm going to say I'm fine with that. Seriously though, even with a week of dry, there were still swampy spots all over - this rain will perpetuate those a little longer. 'Sokay, I guess. Nothing I can do about it.
Today, Mt. Laundry beckons, but I'll ignore it until the sun comes out and I can use the clothesline. Hmmm... wonder if I brought the clothespins in. Wet clothespins are unpleasant. We're going to make salsa, today as well - there's no way around it. I have so many tomatoes and peppers and onions in the garden they'll rot before we can eat them otherwise. Whatever's left beyond that I'll just can for chili and spaghetti sauce. And then I'll take a wee break and scrounge some more jars in prep for applesauce season in a month or so. I feel so domestic!
