The doughnut was not something I'd make the drive to Middlebury for. Well, not again, anyway. There's a new little doughnut shop, opened by a young couple, and apparently the maple glazed, bacon topped doughnut has a loyal following. I'm not among the fans, but hey, I can add it to the list of weird foods I've eaten.
Irene, we are alas, still Timmy free. If I had $100k, I'd buy my own franchise. Apparently they have never had one fail. I can believe it.
I made a bacon brownie the other day..had read about them...sounded kinda kooky and like something I might try...so... I did! And..I LIKE bacon in my brownie! Sweet and a little salty, chewy chocolatey goodness... Gonna have to make me another one..(I even made it low carb!!) I however wasn't much impressed with the maple syrup and bacon muffin I made - it was kinda bland - don't know if it's similar to your bacon maple doughnut, but if so, I wouldn't be making any special trips either.. Try the bacon in the brownie though..yummm!

Wow-two of my very favorite things. How can they be soooo wrong together?
Back in the 60's there was a peanut butter made with bacon. Weird as it sounds, it was DELICIOUS!
On Iron Chef, I saw a "sweet" made with bacon...
I guess it could be kind of like a salty oatmeal cookie...
Did it come from Timmy's?
That looks like a maple glaze, eh? You know I *love* bacon, but I think I'd rather have mine hot, crispy and on the _side_ of my doughnut!
Gahh.
I know they mix in our stomachs. I know that. However, I'd just as soon keep them separate on the way in.

I don't think soooooooooo!!
Oh, not nice. But it makes coping with the loss of doughnuts due to Amy's celiac a little easier...
