So I have the top done for the baby quilt. I decided to go with the two different yellows, and I'm happy with the look. I'd have been just as happy with it, I suspect, if I'd switched all the yellows to the pindot, but this was less work. I figured with the blocks done and trimmed, there was no reason not to assemble them, so I did. I'll either find some batting downstairs (doubtful) or pick some up tomorrow when I go into town for groceries, and I'll get this one finished this week. That's the plan anyway. I guess if I hold off a tiny bit, I can finish the binding on this next Sunday and call this my February finish. ;o) You know, one a month, right?

It's been cold here, especially this weekend. But it's been brilliantly sunny during the day. That, of course is
why it's so cold - no clouds to hold in the "heat" overnight. The days are getting noticeably longer, and we're seeing some of the songbirds again. This little chickadee and his friends have been flying through the trees behind the house. It's fun to watch them, and the new camera I got for my birthday takes great closeup shots, even through the patio door. You can't even see the dust and fingerprints!

Watching the birds this morning, I glanced over at the edge of the woods - as far as I've cleared - and I realized that I don't actually have that huge a job ahead of me this summer. I'll leave the big trees, for now anyway, and the scrub doesn't look nearly as thick as what I got through last summer. I'll angle back from the big trees at the lower left of this picture and follow the big tree line to meet up with the back corner of the cleared field we bought last spring. And then I'll find some other thing that I just can't stand any longer, and do that. ;o) Tori asked Scott earlier today if she could build a deck this summer (that's my girl!) He said no, so I chimed in with "You can help ME build one." Maybe we will. I've already got ideas...
