The week that was, the week that will be

Last week

Needlework
finish second arm of Tori's sweater
begin silent auction quilt
layer and quilt Todd and Stacy baby quilt

Hey you know what I got done this past week? Sweet &^%$ all. Nothing. Nada. Did I pick up Tori's sweater-to-be? Well, yes, but only to move it into a new basket I got for Christmas. Did I begin the auction quilt? I began to think about it. And did I get that baby quilt quilted? Uh, no, but I did cut batting and a backing to size. It's not layered or basted yet, though. So, there. Nothing. Well, not quite. I fixed Tori's Winter Ball dress, and I mostly finished 20 little hobbit girl aprons.

Joann at Pieceful Afternoon asked what exactly a hobbit girl apron is. Allow me... Beginning tomorrow, for two week, our elementary school is hosting a Drama Residency. Don *Something that escapes me* from Very Merry Theatre will work with every single child in our school to put on a performance of "The Hobbit." Being one who is unable to keep her mouth shut, nor able to resist even the faintest "please?" I am helping with costumes and Class Mother-ing 2 classes (neither of which, I might add, has my own kid.) Every kindergartener, and many 1st graders will be hobbits, dressed in cobbled together hobbit costumes. Other young grades will be elves and dwarves, I believe. One teacher expressed that she thought the hobbit girls looked a little under-done and suggested aprons, maybe? Sure! I'd love to whip up a bunch of aprons! How many, how soon? Lots, now. okey-dokey. So yesterday I made up 20 little aprons. I'm just hoping no one suggests the little boy hobbits would look sweet with little caps, dontcha think? note to self: just SHUT UP and keep your hand down.

We had a pile of snow this week. That was fun. And I had a 2 day migraine as well. Since the kids had an inservice day Monday, and a snow day Wednesday, every day seemed like the beginning of the week. It was an endless parade of Mondays. And then it was Friday! Boom, week's over, and nothing to show for it but a ple of laundry and a cleared driveway. Maybe this week, hm?

Well thank you for that nice explanation. I bet those little Hobbit girls look cute now. How nice they have someone like you to help out.

Brrr -rr-r-rrrr keep that snow over there - we are finally getting above 45 most days now. Rain starts tomorrow - which is better than snow - in my book, and in my yard.

Aprons, huh! You and I need to learn how not to raise our hands, you think? I always get myself stuck by raising my hand...maybe I should make a trip to the bathroom when they are asking for volunteers?
