Oh, did I get stuff DONE this week! The weather was nice all week, the first time we've had 4+ dry days in a very, VERY long time. We worked on the deck, paused to re-group and re-think some things, then worked on it some more. I cut boards to length with ahead of Scott who was attaching them with (first) Tiger Paw and then (after the re-think) Eb-Ty hidden fasteners. No screws on top! The Eb-Tys take about as long as the Tiger Paws, but are much more accurate, and don't require personal time with the 8-pound sledge. And that's always a good thing. Scott's got less time to work on the deck this week, so I've got the opportunity to work in the garden and sew.

All the 1/4 blocks, and now 8 (I think?) of the full blocks of Tori's quilt are completed. I'm not sure when I'll get the chance, but I'd really like to get all 42 of those blocks done this week. If I let her stay up late, maybe she'll sleep in... If that fails, school starts in 3 weeks.

I entered a couple of quilts in our local fair. One was the 30s print hand quilted wallhanging I did last year. I suspect that the judge and I do not see colour the same way. Last year, Falling Down Drunk got a red ribbon, with the comment that my fabric choices were a little "chaotic." Um, and your point? This year, the comments on the back of the red ribboned, eastery coloured 30s repro Story Time suggested it "needed a little more punch." Sure lady, whatever you say.
