And now for something completely different

I wasted the last (read that as both most recent and final) two beautiful days trying not to give in to a migraine. I'd have been better off admitting defeat early, going to bed and would have been done with it.

Today it is NOT beautiful. It's raining and blustery, and threatening worse. There's a severe weather alert in effect, though it'll likely blow north or south of us. It usually does. The kids are off the rest of the week. Turkey day is Thursday, we'll likely go see Harry Potter somewhere at some point, but beyond that we have no plans. No "over the river" or "through the woods" for this clan. Besides, both Grandmothers' homes hosted Thanksgiving LAST month.

I listened in on a second grade class in library today. Mary Elizabeth Sawyer was THE Mary, of Mary Had a Little Lamb fame. Her "story," written by John Roulstone was included in a collection of poems compiled by Sarah Hale, editor of Godey's Lady's Book. And Ms Hale was a loud proponent of a national Thanksgiving Day holiday. I'm not exactly sure how all that ties in together, the librarian made it sound good though. Maybe that's why we do NOT serve lamb at Thanksgiving? I'm just thankful Mary didn't choose to adopt a turkey or a pumpkin, that's all I know.
