bring it.

I'm ready. The oil tank is full, as are the pantry and the freezer. The blade is on the tractor, the lawn mower deck is off. The geraniums are dormant, the roses are coned, the gladioli are pulled. The leaves are off the trees, the geese have gone south and deer season started last weekend.

We have had exactly 7 snowflakes here. I'm ready for -30ยบ and gale force winds. I'm ready for wind-chill and road closures, snow days and hot chocolate. The flannels and quilts are on the beds, the blanket sleepers and thinsulate gloves are washed and waiting.

Bring it.

Be Careful What You Wish For Miss Dorothy, not to be confused with the Dorothy from Kansas.
