Help!

I know Help isn't one of Anna's "Nesting Robin" songs, but I need somebody. ;o) The interlocking diamonds in the red inner border didn't work. I need some Lucy in the Sky inspiration. If the border was wider (or my stitches smaller) I could maybe do some cellophane flowers or tangerine trees, but they'll just look like a mess in this 2" border. The Stardust center is geometric - a 6 pointed star with echo quilting. It's not inspired or inspirational, but it looks okay. The gold setting square is Rainbow Connection clamshells (rainbows!) Beyond that, I'm lost. I've got a second red Annie's Song border, and then a wider green The River outer border. I'm not even gonna THINK about those yet!
(added 11/15) This morning, a little more detail, but sadly, no more ispiration. I'm trying to keep this fairly traditional looking so wild quilting, except in small doses, is out. I was thinking, actually, that I could make an "oranges and leaves" kind of swaggy thing that could stretch out long in that first red Lucy border. That could be the tangerine trees, right? Or just swirls, for kaleidescope eyes? There's a thought. I'll have to draw some and see what works. And I'm STILL not gonna think about those last two borders.

So the problem is the sort of stitching you could do? I mean the red border is there to stay, right? Ok try using an orange thread for the quilting in an interlocking 8 and put eyes in the open parts...I need to do a visual for you....
