Quilt snobs and Troublemakers

The Shelburne show was disappointing. Even knowing ahead of time that the selections would be predictable, I was disappointed. There were very few quilts. Filling my "Viewer's Choice" ballot was challenging; the only quilt I absolutely loved was submitted by a judge and so couldn't win.

Speaking to Dona, and overhearing a few conversations I gathered that there's been a shake-up in the guild administration, that many were intimidated by the theme "Crazy About Quilting" and for both reasons, many chose not to enter. I also heard some rumblings about how worthy this dinky little show is as a venue for some of the guild's more artiste quilters.

So, I spent $5 to shop at vendors who didn't offer me anything I couldn't get up the road at exactly the same price. :o( We did go to the Christmas Tree Shop, though, and I picked up cranberry granola bagels and a Chai on the way to the show. And I got gas at $2.39, so that's a good thing. I guess. Not a total write off.
