New template (I hate it), if this doesn't fix it, the problem is (probably) not mine.
okay, back with the old template and I suspect that there's more going on here than just misplaced sidebars. Grrr. GrrrrRRRRRRrrrrr. I'm going to leave it at this point, maybe back up my old posts and see if it doesn't work itself out. In the meantime, there's nothing custom about this blog at all - it's strictly their template with my words plugged in. I'm even going to take out the pictures below.

I see you are back on top again!
Maybe you could add some links gradually and see what happens.
The problem, m'dear, is not mine. It *IS* a Microsoft issue. Since I have no interest in taking on Mr. Gates, I'll keep my titles short. THAT (after all that) is what fixed it.
Well, I guess I'll just get used to you at the bottom of the page!
(you're back down there again)
%$#! Okay, pasted in some more code. Does it work now?
After a little research, it seems that Microsoft chooses to ignore a coupleof standard protocols when handling text or images or *things* that are wider than the space they are in. Rather than extending beyond the margins or wrapping, IE keeps the offending *thing* intact and expands the box instead. Because the box gets bigger, it gets moved down, like a carriage return. Can someone using IE (or anything else that has the same textwrap issue) maybe let me know if it's fixed? I don't kow if the code works, or if it does, whether or not I put it in the right place.
Sigh.
find the section that says #sidebar {
width:240px;
float:right;
margin:15px 0 0;
font-size:97%;
line-height:1.5em;
}
and change the 240 to 200...the sidebar will pop back up...
put your ticker inside of paragraph stop and start tags and center tags - I can't show you here cause this format won't let me put tags in..but it should work with the changed size of the sidebar...
When the ticker was in the header it was inside paragraph start and stop tags and I did have it centered. I don't think that was the problem. I've changed the sidebar width, left the IE specific code in. Argh - I thought this was supposed to be the EASY wayto have a web presence. ;o) My husband (the programmer?!) has started calling me a geek.
You are back on top again!
Well I don't know if "my" fix or Suze's did the trick, but I think I'm going to just leave well enough alone NOW and go to bed. Thanks for all your help, everybody!
