What I Did On My Long Weekend

Saturday - parade in the rain. Well, drizzle. It was cool, wet, and fun anyway. Went to Yankee Pride and Martone's Deli after. Did I say fun? Tasty, too! :o)

Sunday - Garden work. I got the front bed started Sunday, and just about finished this afternoon. Weeded, edged, and mulched ('til I ran out of mulch.) The kids even repainted the Adirondack chairs, and Scott cut the grass. It's purty now, 'cept for the mosquitoes.

Today - ANOTHER parade! As is tradition, we watched the parade with scones and coffee from Jackie's front porch. She lives on a corner, and the parade route follows both streets. It started off cool this morning, but brightened CONSIDERABLY when Kathy O'Brien (OMG!! Kathy, from Survivor!!! first thing we noticed was her fluffy white hat) came to Jackie's door with a friend of Jackie's husband and asked to use her bathroom! Did I say OMG?! Oh My GAWD!!! Kathy! From Survivor! In Jackie's house! She said it was really cute (it is!) Very cool. Jackie took a better picture than me, thank goodness. I was a doofus and forgot to bring the card for my camera so I could take exactly FOUR pictures on the built in memory. Poop.

Oh, and the parade was good too. This is Simon's band. :o)

Your weekend sounded great!
Mine sucked.

Sucky weekends really do suck, especially if they're long weekends. You should try and run the Vermont City Marathon next year, we could hang out when you aren't running. Or sleeping. The carb loading I could definitely help with, though.

A marathon in May? I wouldn't want to train through winter, and April is already Hell for me.
Can't we hang out if I don't run?

Yes, absolutely.

Oh oh oh!!! What the heck are those little pink flowers in your garden? We have some at our new house that have all bloomed and Mike has fallen in LOVE with these things. He asked me today what they were and of course I didn't have a darn clue...
