The landscape is certainly a better picture, but I think I enjoyed the still life better. Are cider donuts a New England thing? I'd never had one, never heard of them, before we moved here. More's the pity, I could have been enjoying these fat and sugar miracles for years! They're only available for a month or so, probably better that way...
Cider doughnut and tea
You'll notice that ticker hasn't moved in a while. My hearts not into it, neither is my head, and until I get myself reapplied to the task, it's just not going to happen. You know, the doughnuts really aren't helping either...

Cider donuts here too....they are phenomenal this year too.As if there was ever a bad time for them!
I have never heard of cider doughnuts. But I am not a big doughnut fan, so maybe they have them here, too.
In Michigan the mills have plain fried cakes, but your's look really good!
I hear you about the diet thing. We'll leave for vacation soon so it looks like Jan. 1 I'll begin again.
These have a sort of apple/cinnamon taste in the dough itself, from the cider. Then they toss them in cinnamon sugar, just becasue everything is better tossed in cinnamon sugar.
We also have a heart attack on a paper plate here known as fried dough - deep fried bread dough served with butter(!!) and powdered sugar. Sounds gross, huh? Nope, fabu too!
Glad you liked the vests! It was your post that sent me over to the Afghans 4 Afghans website. I figured what the heck--I can crochet those! It has been about 15 years since I have crochetted but it came right back to me. My mom has a closet of wool yarn she can't use here so why not send it on to a child as a vest?
I never heard of a cider donut. Probably a good thing.
I've tried for months to get back on the diet train but weekends always mess it up. But today is Monday so I'll start again. Sigh.
Is fried dough what we call funnel cake, maybe? I will agree that is fabulous. Those cider doughnuts sound good, and I don't do doughnuts. Oh, maybe an apple cinnamon bagel instead...
