Hmmm, what number is this on my Next Four? Would that be, uh, 17? Snuck in there, though, didn't it. I spent some time cleaning the mudroom yesterday and thought, what the heck, Christmas has been over a month, Thanksgiving was 2 months ago, it's time to change the quilt. I pulled this out of the cupboard (er, the top shelf in the laundry room, actually) and realized it's from my Finished Enough™ Collection. Pieced top, pillowcased backing, fake-it binding (I just stitched around the edges 1/2" in so it looked like there was a binding. There ain't.) But no quilting through the body of the quilt. And what a saggy baggy body it had. So I wet it, I patted it flat, stretched it square and let it dry pinned to the carpet. And then I quilted it. There will be no close-ups of the quilting. It's better that way, for all concerned (especially me.)
Today I spent all day behind the Boosters' counter doling out hot dogs and nachos to a million hungry elementary school basketball players at our jamboree. $832 worth of hot dogs and nachos and goulash and chili and cookies and muffins and cupcakes to be precise. The best part, our boys, they won every game they played! They remain undefeated this year - show that Thundercat Pride!! (Oh, and I won the 50/50 draw. I kept $50 and threw the rest in the till, what the heck.) Fun, long day, and I'm tired. Bedtime.
