Well, officially, I've missed it, but maybe I'll just postpone my participation a little. Today, it seems, was International Guerrilla Sunflower Day. I don't have any seeds (easily fixable) but I can sure think of a couple of spots that could benefit from some "warfare." Maybe this weekend.
I spent my hour on Maureen's quilt exclusively today. I'll get another hour in tomorrow, too. It's quick going, and I think I'll do better to finish one before starting (continuing) on the other. I've got 8 blocks sashed, and pieced sashing cut to length for another 6? 8? Mindless work, and it's satisfying to see the scrap pile go down, even a little. I'm using a lot of fabric that was given to me with the blocks. I'm also NOT using a lot of it. Some of it is just plain awful. So awful, in fact, that it doesn't even benefit from cutting it into small pieces. Imagine! I've told the school coordinator of this project that while today was HER deadline, Friday is my absolute deadline. Anything not in my hands on Friday is not making it into these quilts. Probably. ;o)
The mammography unit at Porter called me this afternoon to say that "It's What's Inside that Counts" was being hung, and that someone from the paper was coming in to take pictures and write a story. She wanted my permission for the pictures. It's your quilt, people, do what you want with it, but don't expect to see MY face in the paper. I'll take to anyone who calls, but no photos! You all can have your magazine covers and AQS books, I'm just fine buried in the middle of the local twice a week rag, thank you very much.
