I have no idea about the technical side of it, but I got it done when I had the daisy header before. DD did my cactus one when she decided I just "had" to have a new image, lol.
Before, I saved a long thin cropped image on a public site that allows linking, and saved the html that it generated. Then I went into my template and found where the original code was for the existing photo and replaced it with my html. (The photo coding always is img source, etc. )
If no one else comes to your rescue, dd will be back in town on Monday and we'll snag her to help.

I don't see a random image. I am assuming you are talking about the red 'x' I always see up there above your ticker.
