The return of Jo

Put these pictures in the correct order. Did you say "But they're already in the right order!"? Sigh. You win.

There is no Joy in my little corner today. There was yesterday as I merrily stitched along on the Kloster work. See here? That's the left side, the correct side. See how the Kloster turns the corner and immediately runs into holly berries?

This is the right side, er, the wrong side. I've somehow shifted everything four stitches (eight threads) south of where it should be. Since this isn't Excel, I can't shift these rows up with a mouse click. The solution (if you want to call it that) involves pointy scissors and a dental pick. A little pile of fluffy sadness on my table.

Scott asked if I couldn't just pretend it was supposed to look like that, or rip out only the Y and shift it up so that at least the letters lined up? No. Mom will notice. And she'll tell me she noticed. In fact, she'll point it out to some of her friends who might not notice on their own. She's not mean, really, but she can be a little judgemental. I'm not setting myself up for that, no way!

In other news... there is no other news. This was what I accomplished this week. A whole lotta reverse. We did get some end of the season yard work done - it'll be snowing soon and there's outdoor stuff that has to be done before that happens. So if you'll excuse me, I have a tractor oil change and plow installation to attend to. See ya!

I know exactly what you mean about your Mom-my Oma would do the same thing. She always found a way to give a backhanded compliment such as "Oh how lovely it turned out even though there's a big fat glaring mistake that doesn't really matter-you'll do better next time but I used to love those colors....Dear"
How'm I doin'????
Could you come down and rotate my tires and change the oil for me?

Now you're a "picker and a grinner" knew that's what I liked about you. I'd pick it out because I COULDN'T STAND IT and would point it out all the time, lol.

Oh, poor you. Well, frog away. You will feel much happier when it is "perfect."

I so understand. I dislike making a mistake, even if I was the only who could see it. I have a friend who is even more prolific stitcher, and she is usually the only one who can pick out errors. So I often hate to show her ones with mistakes, so I have picked out a lot of errors and redone them.

Bummer. Was going to write a longer comment, but somehow, that really just covers it all. I'll say it again, just so I don't seem all Calvin Coolidge-y. Bummer.
