Leap o'Faith
Hey, quilting content today! I've marked the "Make Way for Ducklings" round of the spring quilt. I did the first side with the Clover iron out white marker and couldn't see it. So I went over it with blue chalk, and still couldn't see it. Fed up, I used a soft regular pencil. I could see it just fine, but it'll take a little attention to get the marks out when I'm done. Looking for something else the other night that would be dark enough to see, permanent enough to last, and washable enough to disappear later, I reached for *gasp* Cute Boyfriend's crayola markers. They wash out of t-shirts and off hands, so I've taken a leap of faith and will trust (hope, cross fingers) that the marking will in fact wash out when the time comes. Fear of failure is an incentive to get this done sooner, rather than later.

I have used the washable markers successfully several times. I remember that the green one was the easiest to wash out.
I've had good luck with the crayola washable markers in the past. I don't think you'll have any problems :-)
Third persons the charm for ok'ing the markers, right? I use them all the time. I agree that green washes out easier, and red may never come out, but all the others colors are ok. Sometimes you need to use bar soap on the wet fabric to really unleash the markers hold. I can't recall if I have ever tried the black marker....probably washes out the easiest.
I used yellow and blue, and it washed out well. Just needed the extra contrast for these aging eyes!!
I, too have used washable markers. Even washed out after a cat wet on said marked quilt. Grrr at the cat. Marker was on for months and still washed out. I was using orange and purple.

I'll chime in here too and say I've used the Crayola Washable Markers with success. I did have a problem with them once (the pink) and had tried everything to get the marks off. When all else failed, I went to Crayola's website and read their instructions to remove them and found out you must use HOT water - good to know!
Well, I am anxious to see your results when they're available. I'd been through the same thing last weekend with white, graphite, and blue quilters' tools. I hope it all comes out! Glad to see so many comments about the washable markers. That will be my lunchtime journey today.
