It rained all week. Every day, I think. The frog showed that just last night (between 7pm and 6:30 this morning) we got almost 4 inches. Sheesh! The beans aren't happy with their wet feet and I doubt we'll get a second crop. Daniel picked the first cob of the first crop of corn I have ever successfully grown. But most definitely not the last. Yum!

Brush clearing stalled this week with all the rain, and nature quickly made a grab for control. Within the past week, I've developed a healthy field of Marsh Ferns, and another of Wood Ferns. They were most certainly there before I cleared, but not in this abundance. I might try and dig them and move them to a spot I'd actually like to see fern covered, but the roots are extremely tough and netlike. If I can get through them at all, they might not take to their new home. Nothing wagered, nothing gained, though.

And I finally got the garage bed cleared of weeds (mostly) and plants that needed to be other places. I had used it as a nursery bed last fall, and then got lazy about putting stuff where it should be. Except for the Korean lilac that doesn't have a permanent place yet, everything there is staying. Apparently begonias like lots of water. Ya think?

I really like this organization. I am trying it out this week. My big goal for this school year is to be more organized.
