<- Looks like summer , doesn't it? These 18 blocks are the result of my sew day on Thursday. I need something for the middle. I'd intended to just go ahead and make 30 of the Roman Stripe blocks but I don't have any more of that yellow. No worries, I'm sure I've got a chunk of something that will work. All I really need is a piece big enough to cut six 7" squares from. No problem with that, I just have to find something that goes. That yellow is very lemon chiffon - no orange in it at all. Filling that hole is the project for this week.

The weather is starting to warm up. This is still January, and it is Vermont, so warm is a relative term. Earlier this week, it was bitter. This was 10 a.m. on Thursday. The sun had already been up for 2 1/2 hours, lot of good it did. It was -21ยบ when I started the truck Friday morning, on the way to school the radio announced there was a delayed start because the diesel fuel had gelled in some of the school buses and they wouldn't start (or would stay running if they did.) Brrr. I think the bears are onto something with that whole hibernating thing.

I didn't get either of the things on my needlework done. that sweater - I will work on it this week I will! And I'm thinking if I schedule the mid-arm class, I'll HAVE to get those border blocks done for that string quilt, since that's what I intend to use for practice.

Right now it is beautiful looking out my wind at the snow covered trees!

Like the roman strip quilt. Very pretty...it is such a simple pattern and yet comes out so pretty.

Have a good week...

Been meaning to ask - did I read correctly that your mom is going to Cuba? We went there when I was very little. My dad was stationed there for a few months - and we traveled over from his regular base on Puerto Rico.

You did read that right. My mom lives in Canada (so no trade blockade) and spends 2 or 3 weeks at an all-inclusive resort in Cuba every winter. She loves it - looks forward to it as soon as the weather starts to get cold, and the prices are incredible.
