Gosh, for a week that felt like a lot of wheel spinning, I guess I did actually get something done! The weather has been invigorating - I can't imagine I'd have been nearly as productive if it was still hot and humid. I love fall. The red's coming, the geese are leaving. Shadows are growing longer, days shorter.

I was up early this morning and went for a walk. When I got home just before 7, I noticed the roof was white. I'm not sure the frost made it all the way to the ground, but it was chilly down here, I can assure you of that! It's 38ยบ right now and the sun and I have been up for an hour and a half. Time for some coffee I think, to warm up.

It's 96 days until Christmas. Did you know that? I usually catch it, just before 100 days, and drive my friends (online and real) nuts with a count-down. I knock off around Thanksgiving, 'cause gee, everyone knows, by that point. So, 96. Get busy!

Goldie finally came home yesterday morning. We've now invested an entire mortgage payment in his newfound crystal hobby. Wish I figure out a way to make a little money off it. ;o) I mean, everyone loves crystals, right? I could sell 'em to some of those crazy toddler pageant moms I see all over the tv lately. I kid. But still...

Yum. Beef Barley soup. We have a friend who is the cook and owns a small restraunt in our neighborhood. He makes beef Barley soup on Wednesdays or Thursdays. Sometimes he leaves a big empty container of it on our porch. It is good. It is thick and doesn't have a cream base, but it isn't broth either. Is that what yours is like?
I could go for some chili and cornbread. It is starting to get cool here, and seems like just the right time for it.

Enjoy that fall weather! It probably won't freeze here for a couple months. Your recipes are always an inspiration for me.
