About the crazy...

I know where my brain was headed! I'm sure of it!

The next thing on my to-do list for the Christmas craft fair is crayon rolls. I'll make them for the few remaining not yet 16 year old nieces and nephews, too, though perhaps with gel pens or Sharpies for the older ones. There's a pattern here, the one I'm using from an old magazine is just slightly different. My original thought was to use some heavier weight cottons for the body of the roll - upholstery weight, maybe even corduroy, but how much more unique (and frugal!) would it be to piece and quilt "yardage" to cut that body from? I'll perhaps do some with unpieced bodies, but I today I'll start piecing a "top" to layer and quilt and then I'll cut the body of the rolls from that.

I've got a few things to get through today first, but once they're out of the way, woohoo! And tomorrow, I can sew all day! I'm stuck here waiting for someone to come fix the tractor. It won't start. :o(

the quilted fabric for the roll sounds like a great idea! and gel pens and sharpies, sweet! I gave Steph a big package of new sharpies for college and she got nick-named 'sharpie girl' by some of her dorm mates.

I initially read "crayon rolls" as "crayon dolls". Evidentally I have a dose of the crazy as well.
