Hey! Know what I did this week? Except for things that were arranged by others, that required little more of me than showing up? Nadda. Look at that. I baked some cookies, ate some cookies, baked more, ate more... I did the wash and cleaned the bathroom, and chased the vacuum around, but mostly, I think I spun my wheels.

I've reacquainted myself with my treadmill, and ugh, I'm doing my best to keep up with it, even when I don't don't don't want to. It's probably the only thing between me and a full time switch to elastic waists right now, what with the cookies and all. I've re-started CoolRunning's Couch to 5K and have survived the first 2 weeks, building up to an average speed of 4 mph. It's not fast yet, but it's better than warming the couch. I'm also re-instituting the 12 hour daily fast - nothing to eat from 7 pm to 7 am. I sleep better if I'm not stuffed, and waiting until after 7 to eat in the morning is no trouble at all. I'm gonna tread water until the holidays are past, then kick this into gear again, let's say December 27th. That's 2 weeks from now.

I'm still searching for my word for next year, though a couple are presenting themselves more insistently than others. maybe I should come up with a mini, too - a word for the week. In that case, my word for this week should be "DO" as in Just Do It. Okay.

I'm planning 2 weeks of menus this week, and I think I might try to do that from now on. It makes both shopping and preparing more efficient. Leftovers don't look like leftovers if you plan it right. No repeats (or just minor ones) is another bonus. Fewer cries of "chicken again?!" We'll see how it goes.

Congratulations on doing couch to 5K. I loved that program. I still run at about 4 mph so don't worry about the speed.
