begin retaining wall in corner (unlikely)

You know, I'm just gonna take that wall off the to do list. It's not going to happen this year.

Tuesday I called Rita to schedule another session on the Handiquilter. Thursday, that happened. It's quilted, the binding is attached, and I've just rounded the second corner sewing it down. SO my Christmas gift sewing is done. Well, for all intents, it's done. I'll share a picture of it FINISHED on Thursday. As I was working on the hand sewing last night Daniel asked "So who's that quilt for?" "Danielle." "Oh, my ears were hoping you were going to say Daniel." So, I've begun piecing the 9 patches for his quilt. They'll be done this week, since it's not a real machine heavy sewing week otherwise.

There's a quilt show in Shelburne, out at the lake this weekend. My frind Susan, who I usually go with, can't come, and I just don't feel like heading up there by myself so I'm going to pass on it this year. Truth be told, I don't feel like doing ANYthing today, but it's Halloween so there will be things to do.

I don't like Halloween. When we lived in Canada, I considered it the "annoying little hiccup between Thanksgiving and Christmas" but that doesn't work here with Thanksgiving in November. I don't even remember being super hyped for it when I was a kid although I might have my cranky old lady filter on that memory. No one makes the effort to come down our long, dark driveway, and tonight is supposed to be cold and wet. Lovely. Can't wait. I mean that. Really. And so begins the candy holidays for another year.

And what's this, no pictures? Let's see if I can come up with something. How's this for a Halloween picture? Sorry, arachnophobes.

we have the same take on Halloween. Our house is at the top of a long driveway...loonngg driveway..up a dark hill. Kind of perfect for spookiness but not many kids over the years.
