weeding, planting, watering

The garden, as I said, is in. As I thought would be a GREAT idea last year, I planted the hot peppers in the flower bed along the walk to the front door. I'm rethinking that plan, though the slugs think it was excellent. ugh. Seriously. Perhaps tomorrow I'll wander down to the thrift store and see if they have any copper cookie cutters.

I spent some quality time with the seam ripper this week, and a little with the sewing machine and have 28 of the 42 blocks for Simon's quilt correctly done, or as correctly done as they're going to get. I'm going to strive to get the last 14 done this week too. We'll see.
The summer band concerts kick off this week in the park. Yay! That means strawberries and ice cream too. I can't wait and the weather's supposed to cooperate as well! For a change.

Simon's quilt is really great looking I love that pattern.
The #$%^%$#@ slugs ate all my dahlias...grrrrr. It would help if it stopped raining every day. We're growing nothing but mold around here
copper cookie cutters is an excellent idea! even copper bowls with holes punched through, and much better than poison!
