Oooh, tropical! In my typical left-head fashion I had tried and tried to figure out how to assemble this quilt in blocks. Duh. It's a STRIP quilt. These 6ish inch wide strips will all get trimmed to a consistent, straight 5 1/2". The subsets are only 10" long *(I have them butted together here) so trimming will be fast and easy. Then I'll assemble. Throw in a random 3 1/2" of the indigo and plug on until I get eight of them at 84" long each. Then add strips of the indigo lengthwise and Bob's yer uncle. Or Dorothy's yer aunt, as the case may be.As I was outside shovelling the foot or so of new snow we got overnight I was humming Christmas carols. SO what better to do to warm up than to finish the last three strip sets and get all these pretties pressed. Warmed me back up nicely.
Now for some soup, and then it's back to the beach. ;o)

If he hates it I'll take it off your hands.Those are so my colors! It's GORGEOUS! Also thinking instead of indigo strips just lining them up with seams not matching on purpose may be interesting.The plan you have to attach them all is very smart,but we all know you are brilliant!
I like this a lot. The colors are my favorites, of course, but it also looks like it's going to have a nice abstract feel.
Lookin'g good! I really love the idea of using random scraps to make on of these and Lord knows I have buckets full. One of the women on-line recently showed a crumb block and I like that idea as well. These piees always come out looking so artistic somehow. Very Monet...no?
I did too believe you, I just figured a picture thrown in was a kick of an idea.
