Not so much to show for this week. I did piles of laundry, but no one needs to see that. I cleaned the spiderwebs from the top corners of the front hall, but no one wants to see that either. I cut down some more trees, mostly scrubby little ones, a couple of bigger ones that pushed the outside limit if my reciprocating saw. Think carving a turkey with a Swiss Army Knife. Sure you *can* do it, but there really are better choices. The trunks will make nice s'more inducing campfire wood next summer, and the branches and leaves will contribute nicely to my ongoing Fill the Ravine project.

Yesterday I put on my long sleeves and gloves and did a serious decimate prune number on the raspberries. Next spring I'll move them over along the property line next to the orchard. They'll have more space, we'll be able to pick from both sides, and they won't grow up behind the garage siding like they keep doing now.

I once again did not build the new raised beds. We had rain on and off much of the week, and the mosquitoes are still legion. At this stage I'm ready to sacrifice the remaining tomatoes for a bloodsucker killing frost.

Leaves are just starting to change, there have been some pretty ones on the sidewalk as I walk around tiny town. Most of the leaves are still green, but with that hoped for frost, things will change fast. Sugar Maples turn a beautiful golden orange colour in the fall, and Tori and I are going to scout the woods for trees to tap next February. We've got more than 5 acres of woods - there's got to be a gallon of maple syrup in there somewhere.

My mother turned 75 in August, and my younger brother and sister are throwing her a birthday party next Saturday. I've got some driving to do next weekend, I guess...

My but you've been busy. Nice to see the autumn leaves--no such thing out here on the west coast.

Perhaps if we all started listing things like all the loads of laundry we do our accomplishment lists would seem that much more impressive...
